Currently, my brain is all fall-all the time. This week I’m hosting a huge event for work which I’ve been planning for months: A Vintage Fall Festival (Fun right? Well stay tuned because I’ll feature that in a later post)
I figured what better time than now to share some ways to create a festive fall front porch (try saying that 5 times!) The porch I’m featuring is my Mother in Laws and these are her great ideas.
- In the top picture, she has a variety of pumpkins, gourds, mums and flowers in various colors along the steps. Cornstalks flank the door and a large wreath with a festive sign hang in the middle. The colors just pop and make the porch look amazing; what better way to greet guests as they come to your door? I feel like I’m touring a “Better Homes and Gardens” home every time I come over.
- The middle picture is a pennant she made using a variety of fall fabrics. Pennants are awesome: they look great and if you choose to make your own they’re not that hard to make and are typically inexpensive. To make your own, just cut a pennant template, cut out several pennants, make a hole in the corners and then string jute through it.
- The third is an ‘over the top’ flower box with an array of colors and textures from the various flowers and plants..it’s not your typical flower box that’s for sure; so festive.
Since this is my busiest time of year as a marketing director, I’m keeping this post short and sweet. Kudos to my MIL for creating such a gorgeous porch; she’s one creative cookie.
Happy Fall Y’all!
