It’s officially sandal weather, HOORAY! I’m a flip flop wearing fool but before I go showing off my tootsies, I want to make sure all the dry skin is gone. Post pregnancy, my feet were a nightmare; it seemed my heels were drier than ever & it was taking me forever to remove all the dry skin. The only plus was that I think I was getting some decent biceps from having to pumice the heck outta my heels. Thankfully, my friend Sarah told me about this foot soak that will get rid of it much faster & easier. I tested it out & she was right, it works…the dry skin comes right off: it’s Ah-mazing.
If you have dry, cracked heals….or if you simply want a relaxing foot bath that will leave your feet feeling fresh give this a try. You’re just a few steps away from being free of funky feet.
This is what you need:
- 2 cups of warm water
- 1 cup of vinegar
- 1 cup of antiseptic mouthwash (like Listerine)
Just combine them all in a large bowl or foot bath & soak for about 15 minutes. After the soak, I then took a pumice stone and buffed the heck outta my feet, especially my heels.
I found that this method is alot easier than just buffing alone & my feet are now ready to roll for summer. If your heels get really cracked, you may need to repeat this as needed to get your feet where you want them.
Time to Moisturize:
I personally like to add some moisture to them when I’m all done (this might be best to do at night). After my feet are nice & smooth I then add some of my whipped body butter to them, cover with socks and when I wake up, they’re pretty & moisturized.
